First off, I want to say that themes are a great way to build a website; It makes your life so much easier. Even if you use a theme, you can always change how things look and make it your own. Often, your site will look nothing like the theme you started with. When picking a theme, there are lots of different aspects you need to keep in mind: in this post, I am going over some of the main things to think about. With that out of the way, let’s get started.

One of the first things you should keep in mind, is the aesthetic of the logo: is it curvy and circular, or sharp and straight? You want a theme that will complement and add to the overall style; so if you have a round logo, you may want to choose a theme that has circular buttons.

Another thing that you need to take into consideration, is your wireframe. A wireframe is a layout of a web page, that demonstrates what interface elements will exist on key pages. You want a theme that covers everything (or is very close) to covering everything you want in your wireframe. For example, if your wireframe calls for a contact form, you want to be sure that your chosen theme includes a way to contact you.

Divi Themes

My favourite themes to use are with Divi, by Elegant Themes. They have tons of options, and it’s easy to use. There’s also a lot of support, from the community, and from Elegant Themes themselves. There are lots of videos online about how to use Divi, and Elegant Themes has many of its own tutorials and help section. Elegant Themes also has a live chat, so you can get the help you need immediately. Divi themes are also compatible with WordPress Plug-Ins, so you don’t have to sacrifice any of your content just to use a specific theme.
