My team of three started working on our final project. Creating a website for our client using WordPress and Divi.
What we have done already
We have met with our client and created our scope statement, as well as started our project charter. We have also started our work breakdown structure and GANTT chart. We also got together with the other groups to do a logo jam.

What is a Logo jam?
A logo jam is when a group of people get together to brainstorm ideas for logos. I’m the designer of our group so I got to lead it. It starts with the designer explaining to everyone about the company, so everyone can get a feel for what the company is like and what it does. Then everyone draws their ideas on sticky-notes for 10 minutes. After that everyone puts their ideas on the wall and gets inspirations from the ideas of others. Then everyone draws more of their ideas for another 10 minutes. The purpose of a logo jam is to help the designer to get ideas and something to start with.
Now it’s my job to use the inspiration to make a good logo for our client.
What will I do now?
I will start out by doing some more sketches playing around with different ideas. Once I have multiple that I like, I’ll show them to my team and get feedback as well as getting feedback from others in the class. During this time I will also pick out colors and get feedback from others. After that I will refine them. Pick out my three favorites and show them to the client. After their feedback I will make final adjustments and present them to the client.
It’s important to make a good logo as it will be used everywhere. It becomes a major part of the identity of a company.
Why I try to pick the best color
Picking good colors for the logo are very important because it affects the rest of the site. The color scheme for the site is based off the logo, so I take that into account when designing a logo. The color needs to look good on the web, not be too overpowering/bright.
A site I really like to use is Coolors.co, it lets you pick colors, you can see them together and it displays the colors in Hex and others, which is super handy. I like to use it when planning a color scheme.
